Lady Gaga celebrated the release of her brand new album ARTPOP with the aid of a flying dress - believed to be the world's first! - at New York's Brooklyn Navy Yard.
Dubbed the artRAVE, Gaga opened with "Aura," that same way the ARTPOP album does, and the unveiling of new pieces by modern artist Jeff Koons.
She also unveiled a piece by Marina Abromovic (previously known for coaxing Lady Gaga nude through the woods), and went all out musically, as always.
The highlight, though, was one of Gaga's most spectacular entrances yet. A "flying dress" called "Volantis" - essentially a wearable jet pack - carried her in.
Check out this clip of the thing below, it's something else:
Lady Gaga recently announced that she will sing in outer space the year after next. Perhaps she can blast off into the stratosphere wearing this thing?
As for the live performances during the artRAVE?
Some paled in comparison to their studio counterparts. Others were more refined and, not surprisingly, inspired rousing sing-alongs from the crowd at 1:30 am.
"Do What U Want" may have required a backing track for R. Kelly's verse, but the 27-year-old superstar put all of her remaining energy in the finale.
Check it out along with two other clips below ...
