Today, it was revealed that a pair of decidedly dichotomous fashion exhibitions will bow in London this summer. On July 4, Kensington Palace—which served as Princess Di’s home from 1981 until her death—will open Fashion Rules: Dress From the Collections of HM The Queen, Princess Margaret, and Diana, Princess of Wales. (July is also the month Kate Middleton is due). The show’s curators promise that the royal wares will offer a fresh take on the tale of the twentieth century monarchy. Meanwhile, London’s Jewish Museum will remember very different kind of icon: In honor of what would have been the late Amy Winehouse’s thirtieth birthday, the institution will launch a July show celebrating the musician’s talent and retro, vampy style. Her guitar, unseen photographs, record collection, and, of course, wardrobe will all be on view.
