Tamara Taichman, the French fashion editor turned designer behind accessories brand Tila March, launched her second Paris store in Le Marais this week. Offering over sixty styles of easy, geometric handbags and forty styles of shoes—some of which are exclusive to the Marais location—the new flagship is a testament to the brand’s growth since 2006, when Taichman designed her first (and much beloved) Zelig tote so she could have something sleek and practical to carry during fashion week. Set on Rue Vieille du Temple, the cozy space merges old and new, with industrial display blocks, ornate tiled floors, crate cases, and aged, original wood beams. “When we are opening a new store, I work on the concept in the same way I design accessories,” says Taichman, who also has stand-alone shops in Singapore, Japan, and on Paris’ Rue Saint-Sulpice. “Mixing materials and using warm and cool colors evokes a different feeling in each accessory,” she adds, noting that for this particular boutique, she aimed to capture the artistic spirit of the area. Taichman tells Style.com that there are more spaces in the pipeline, both in Paris and abroad. In the meantime, you can find her leather bags and comfy kicks stateside at Jeffrey and Bloomingdale’s.
