Today, the Queen recognized Stella McCartney for her contributions to fashion by pinning her with an Order of the British Empire. In addition to building her own fashion empire, McCartney was picked to design the UK’s 2012 Olympic uniforms—and royal honors seem to run in the family (ahem, Sir Paul McCartney). So it seems fitting that Ms. McCartney get the prestigious and much-merited honor. The Queen deserves some props, too—considering previous OBE recipients include Stephen Jones, Sarah Burton, and Dame Vivienne Westwood, we’d have to say she’s got some pretty sharp taste.
