Considering the First Lady wore Reed Krakoff not once but twice during the inauguration, the designer has been at the center of MObama Mania all week. But today, we’d like to take a respite from the patriotic props to discuss Krakoff’s Spring ’13 film. To accompany his campaign (which he shot himself), the designer directed a moody short starring Laetitia Casta (the model, who Krakoff described as the “ideal reflection” of his woman, also features in his Spring images). Between the red haze that flashes across the screen, Casta’s “come hither if you dare” gaze, and eerie background tunes performed by Walls, the film shows Krakoff’s minimal, feminine Spring wares in an entirely new light. The designer’s heady film debuts exclusively on Style.com (above), and we have to say, there’s something alluring about Krakoff’s walk on the dark side.
