The fair hasn’t officially started, but even so, in Miami, Art Basel is now well under way. You’ll be hearing a lot about it; you’ll be seeing a lot about it (if you’d like to hear and see a lot of it through our eyes, visit our just-launched Art Basel updates section). And if you’re a certain kind of jet-setter—the kind who’s already got their Out of Office on and their credit limit extended—you’ll be shopping a lot about it. For this, Louis Vuitton has set up a temporary shop to help. Its new pop-up space in Miami’s Design District is where you’ll find Objets Nomades, a collection of home goods for sale and special order by emerging and established designers. (A few are prototype-only.) The Campana Brothers, Patricia Urquiola, and Atelier Oï are among some of the names, but our pick for buy of the 16-piece lot is the lamp by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby (they of the award-winning London Olympic torch), with LV leather straps and a $3,350 price tag. After the Miami shop closes post-fair, the collection will head to the Travel Rooms of select Vuitton boutiques worldwide.
