The Olympic Games don’t start until next week, but Opening Ceremony’s Humberto Leon and Carol Lim are already in London town finishing up the final touches on their first U.K. shop, a Covent Garden pop-up that will coincide with the Games. As previously reported, this is a temporary location to be followed by the permanent store opening down the street this fall, but it’s by no means a small undertaking. Brit designer Faye Toogood created “mechanical-looking” constructions for the windows, along with several art pieces on display throughout the store. And in OC fashion, Lim and Leon have enlisted a top crop of its frequent collaborators to create exclusive Olympic pieces for the 3,000-square-foot space, including Chloë Sevigny, Proenza Schouler, Band of Outsiders, Delfina Delettrez, and Adidas. Here, Style.com has a first look at some of the winning goods, including Delettrez’s finger ring ($302), Prism’s sunglasses ($409), Band of Outsiders’ tank ($87), and House of Holland’s dress ($322), before the store opens Thursday. And if that’s not already enough, the duo is debuting OC Annual, its new “collectible fashion and culture magazine,” in August, followed by its 300-page, tenth anniversary Rizzoli tome, due out in September.
Opening Ceremony opens July 19 at 31-32 King St., London, www.openingceremony.us.
