Mira Mikati admits she’s not much of a camper—scuba is more her thing—but that didn’t stop her from taking Façonnable on a charming summer-picnic-slash-camping-trip for Spring ’14. Most of the good-humored, easy separates featured in her second outing for the range are sprinkled here and there with bestioles—critters like ladybugs, bees, and spiders. Options ranged from a classic white blazer with a lone bee on the shoulder (the others were tucked inside, on its blue and white striped lining) to a varsity jacket embroidered with little creatures and lush foliage. Mikati has a knack for pairing sportswear with noble fabrics in winning combinations. This season, some surefire hits included the basic blazer with ribbed trim, the pajama-style separates (a Façonnable essential), a jumpsuit, and a colorful knit sweater that “brings together every type of stitch I could get my hands on.” Hans Feurer’s campaign photos, which debut exclusively here, capture the energy and optimism of a collection that, it’s a safe bet, is likely to be as close to camping as a lot of fashion-lovers will ever get.
