For Spring ’13, cult L.A.-based footwear label The Generic Man has once again teamed up with Comme des Garçons Shirt for a quirky-meets-classic shoe collaboration. The range includes three styles—the Mohawk (which is actually trimmed with Mohawk-ish suede fringe—pretty on trend, if we do say so), the Wellington, and the Wing Tip. Of course, the collaboration wouldn’t be Comme des if it weren’t a little cryptic, so each of the three collaborative styles is meant to tell the story of the season via varying palettes and playful cartoon prints. (For instance, the color-blocked Mohawk is representative of early spring and comes in shades like slushy greige, mint, and bordeaux, while the Wing Tip, meant to embody full-blown summer, is offered in combos of electric turquoise, yellow, sky blue, teal, and lime).

To show off the capsule, the duo asked director Felipe Lima to shoot a short film. Titled River Mouth, the video (below) follows Lima’s brothers as they run around Brazil—from Rio to the jungle of Paraná to the Iguazu Falls. The film’s message is, perhaps, less cryptic than that of the collection—The Generic Man x Comme des Garçons Shirt’s shoes are ready for adventure.
