Paris’s menswear shows kick off on January 16th and, after sitting through nearly two weeks of runways and traveling to four cities, we imagine the fashion set will have worked up an appetite. Lucky for them, Hudson Clearwater, a favorite downtown eatery of New Yorkers in the know, is Paris-bound. The restaurant has teamed up with Jenny Capano and Tara Gilson of The Sporting Project (the same group that brought The Fat Radish to the fashion capital during last season’s womenswear shows) for a scrumptious men’s week pop up. Featuring a light, all-vegetarian tasting menu, signature cocktails (two of the restaurant’s bartenders are coming along to make sure their jalapeno infused tequila “Calacas,” and rye whiskey “King’s Country” drinks are mixed just right) and live New York music (courtesy of The Bones of J R Jones and Nicholas Magliato), Hudson Clearwater’s pop up will be stationed in Bob’s Kitchen in the Marais district.

“We want to create a one of a kind experience,” said Capano and Gilson. “It’s only for a limited time, so each night has a surprise in store. Yet, it’s still laid back enough that you can stop by every night and meet friends for drinks.” Hudson Clearwater’s chef, Wes Long, sees the project as a chance to re-explore his culinary roots. “I’m classically trained in French cuisine, so having the ability to introduce my food into the Parisian scene is an opportunity I have always dreamed of,” he said, adding that the menu, the ingredients for which will all be sourced from local markets, is “approachable without being simple.” Hudson Clearwater’s co-owners, Matthew Hechter and Christopher Brandon (who are no strangers to the fashion crew, considering one of the first events they ever catered was Philip Lim’s after party) note that the Paris outpost’s decor is all about thoughtful details. “The design of our restaurant has always focused more on careful subtleties and we plan to continue this vibe in Paris with natural candle light and freshly-cut foliage.”

In addition to offering two nightly post-show seatings and cocktails until 2am, the Hudson Clearwater pop up team will be hosting a kick off cocktail fete in the 9th arrondissement with Details‘ editor-in-chief, Dan Peres on January 15th.

Opened from January 16 through 20, the Hudson Clearwater pop up will be located in Bob’s Kitchen at 74 Rue Des Gravilliers in Paris’ 3rd arrondissement. For reservations, send an e-mail to reservations@thesportingproject.com.
