When designers travel the world, Style.com rides along. Here, Rebecca Taylor sends a few snaps from her recent trip to Japan.

Above: “View from my hotel room at the Park Hyatt—the land of the rising sun.”

“Every year I travel to Tokyo to meet with my licensing partners and staff. Each time it’s like a peek into the future, a journey to another planet, an explosion of creativity. The street style, the shopping, the architecture, the details—even the manhole covers are fantastic! For this trip, I was lucky enough to stay at the beautiful Park Hyatt Hotel, most well-known from the film Lost in Translation. It has the most breathtaking view overlooking Tokyo. Japan is a crazy, wonderful place and I always come back to New York energized, inspired, and with another karaoke favorite added to my repertoire.”

“I love how you can find art everywhere in Japan.”

“The entrance at Tokyu Plaza, a landmark in Harajuku. I was inspired by all the modern architecture in Tokoyo.”

“A line for American breakfast at Harajuku’s Eggs ‘N Things. It’s interesting to see the long wait since everyone usually eats fish for breakfast in Japan.”

“An exhibition in Harajuku. Not sure what this is and not sure I really want to know, either.”
