“Kate Moss,” Twiggy opined at a London bash in the supe’s honor last night, “is the best model that ever lived.” If fashion had an Olympics, Kate would be its gold medalist. So maybe that explains why, on the biggest occasions, Ms. Moss tends to favor gold. We couldn’t help but notice that Kate’s gown last night picked up the tones she selected for her Olympics-closing walk in London, and her turn on the Met’s red carpet for the 2009 “Model as Muse” gala. The not-so-subliminal message: She’s the gold standard. Which in itself may explain why she’s been famously cast in gold.
