United Colors of Benetton always likes to keep things a little spicy (remember those ad campaigns from last year featuring global leaders locking lips?). In keeping with that theme, the Italian fashion brand unveils its Soho pop-up shop and gallery space, The Art of Knit, tomorrow. Inside the garage space (situated around the corner from a BP gas station), you’ll find various exhibitions, including artist Erik Ravelo’s “Lana Sutra” knitted sculptures of couples entwined in Kama Sutra positions.

“The beauty of knitwear is versatility in many ways—it can be sexy,” the brand’s chief merchandising officer and creative director, You Nguyen, tells Style.com. “We wanted to share with the public the heart and soul of Benetton, colors and knitwear, and do it in a manner that is thought-provoking and fun,” he explains of the concept for the pop-up, open until the end of December.

Alongside the knit artworks, the label’s Fall 2012 collection and a range of knitted objects, from a banana to a tennis racket, are on display (and many of them are for sale). “There are also two exclusive styles designed for the pop-up experience in New York: a deadly sexy long pointelle evening dress and an equally sexy and sleek bodysuit,” he says. “All in knitwear, of course!” Here, Style.com has the exclusive first look inside the shop before it opens to the public just in time for FNO tomorrow.

Benetton’s The Art of Knit pop-up shop is located at 135 Crosby St., NYC.
