In fashion, there are a few certainties: Black will be timeless, girls will eventually borrow from boys (and vice versa), and Marc Jacobs will show his namesake collection on Monday night of New York fashion week. Except, that is, this season. WWD reports that Jacobs will be batting cleanup at the end of the week, showing at 8:30 p.m. on the evening of Thursday, September 15, instead of his previously scheduled Monday evening slot. (Marc by Marc Jacobs, scheduled for Thursday afternoon, will take the Monday opening.) The change comes after Hurricane Irene, which swept through the city this weekend, prevented the label’s designers from working through the weekend as planned. Whether the resulting collection will be hurricane-inspired remains to be seen.
